How to use vegan face oils?

Vegan face oils can work wonders. After putting oil on your face, dry patches virtually disappear. The face becomes more harmonious, fresh, radiant, and well-relaxed. Oils help soothe and smooth skin. Calendula oil, rosehip oil, jojoba oil, and many more — when to use them and, above all, how to use them? We have created a guide on how to use vegan face oils properly. We wish you enjoyable reading!

What are vegan face oils?

Vegan face oil is one of the skincare products. Actually, vegan facial oils are oil-based facial formulas. They are designed to make them perfect to be applied to the skin. It’s worth noting that oils are formulated from ingredients that don’t cause clogged pores or breakouts.

Not everything can be put on your face — a careless selection of skincare cosmetics can affect your face. However, with vegan face oils, you don’t have to worry about it. Quite the opposite, such oils have a beneficial effect on your skin! Facial oils are intended to nourish and nurture skin.

The world needs vegan products

Face oils are all the more worth buying because they are plant-based, cruelty-free, and vegan. Fortunately, people have become more mindful of the importance of consumer choices they make. They are aware that animal-derived ingredients shouldn’t be included in their skincare products. They openly say no to animal by-products as they understand how bad it is to test cosmetic products on animals.

That’s why they feel relief that there is growing awareness of the need to protect animals and the environment. They are happy that vegan skincare products, such as face oils, are more and more easily available and that the beauty industry is slowly resigning from non-vegan products.

Which vegan face oil should you choose?

There are many types of vegan face oils. Some oils will be better for sensitive skin, while others will be perfect for oily skin. Young skin would need different care than mature skin. It’s all a matter of matching the cosmetics to the specific skin types.

Oils dedicated to oily skin and mixed skin types

Oily skin and mixed skin should look for plant-based oils that regulate the level of sebum, cleanse the skin of blackheads and relieve inflammation. Without that, getting rid of clogged or enlarged pores, acne, and running makeup won’t be possible. Oily skin owners should choose an oil with non-comedogenic ingredients. What’s going to be the best is the product that absorbs quickly into the skin and has anti-inflammatory and antibacterial properties.

Jojoba oil, perilla oil

Consider choosing jojoba oil, which in fact, is a liquid wax rich in omega fatty acids. It will make your skin less oily and accelerate the healing of minor wounds on your face. It will also minimize the harmful effects of free radicals. Perilla oil is another vegan facial oil that slows down the skin’s aging process, firms the skin, and evens out the color.

Raspberry seed, chia seed, hemp seed oils…

Raspberry seed oil with alpha-linolenic and linoleic acid are worth trying too. Take linseed oil, black seed oil, chia seed oil, hemp seed oil, rosehip oil, green tea oil, and strawberry seed oil into account, and you won’t be disappointed.

Oils dedicated to sensitive and dry skin

When it comes to dry and sensitive skin owners, they should choose something that can strengthen their skin. The perfect oil should help preserve natural beauty and moisturize. The best idea is to try using sea buckthorn oil, sweet almond oil, avocado oil, blackcurrant oil, and sunflower oil.

Buckthorn, sweet almond, avocado oils

These oils can be mixed with each other. They can be mixed with other skincare products such as face masks to get satisfying results. Each facial oil mentioned above gets along with chamomile and products rich in vitamin E (which has anti-aging properties). Interesting fact: acne skin will enjoy grape seed oil, calendula oil, and tamanu oil which is also highly recommended in case of pimples or spots, burns, and sun damage.

How to properly use vegan face oils?

We already know what vegan face oils are and how to choose the most suitable oils for a certain skin type. But how to use these oils properly, step by step? How not to make mistakes in your daily skincare routine? Organic vegan face oil can easily be included in everyday routine. See how easy it is!

Using Oil Cleansing Method

The correct order is relevant here. The first thing you need to do in the morning is to use something which softly cleanses the skin and doesn’t damage the skin barrier. Even double cleansing makes sense when it comes to the evening skincare routine. Removing make-up and impurities after a long day is more than needed. At that time, face oils can be useful.

There is a method called OCM (which stands for Oil Cleansing Method), and its main principle is that oil dissolves oil. OCM focuses on makeup removal, delicate exfoliation of the epidermis, and deep skin cleansing.

All you need to do in order to cleanse the skin is to warm the oil in your hands and apply it delicately on your face — massage your face with it the same way you would apply gel or cleansing foam. The thing is to soak a fluffy hand towel in the warm water, put it up to the face and gently press. Repeat it a few times, and you will get rid of oil residues. Remember that oils are good enough to wash off mascara (with the use of a cotton pad).

Moisturizing the skin with a facial oil

Plant oils can be used to moisturize your face. However, long-term and everyday use is not the best idea, given the fact that it may lead to over-drying the skin. It’s worth doing from time to time. Try twice a week! Mix a moisturizing oil with hyaluronic acid, aloe vera gel, or some plant hydrolase. Your face will thank you for it!

Soothing irritations and scars

Each time some irritation appears on your face, face oils are ready to help. When your skin is itchy when it peels, when it’s red when there’s cheilitis, herpes, acne lesions, or when you have an uneven skin tone… just a drop of tamanu oil will do the trick. You are also free to mix oil with anti-inflammatory properties with essential oils — choose tea tree, lavender, or thyme oil.

If you want to get rid of blemishes and scars, you must show great patience. It is possible, but it may take a long time. You should apply tamanu oil or rosehip seed oil on a cleansed face, and after a few weeks, you will notice an improvement in your skin quality.
